Mexico, Dec. 6 (Notimex).- Nearly a million and a half tourists will enjoy Christmas celebrations in Guanajuato, which will leave an economic spill surpassing 5,070 million pesos, informed the state Ministry of Tourism.
The dependency pointed out that on the December holidays, from December 21 to January 7, 2018, the arrival of over 261,685 tourists to hotels in the state is estimated, with a hotel occupancy of 42 percent.
In a statement, it explained that during the season, in the state capital, the affluence of over 166,762 visitors is expected, which represents an increase of 9.0 percent compared to the previous year.
It explained that in Leon, the visit of over 272,758 people is estimated, which represents an increase of 8.0 percent, and an increase of 37 percent in hotel occupancy compared to the 2016 season.
According to the Ministry of Tourism, San Miguel de Allende expects more than 115,000 visitors; meanwhile, in Celaya the arrival of over 115,721 visitors, which means 9.0 percent more than 2016.
