Guadalajara, Mexico, Dec. 6 (Notimex).- Integral attention and social integration of persons with disabilities are a priority at the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) in Jalisco, and for which the institute will carry out several actions to improve the quality of life for these persons.
Among them, the National Forum and the National Week for Persons with Disabilities Rights that this year, began on December 4 at the Social Security centers of the state, informed the head of the Social Benefits Office, Marco Antonio Cedillo Martinez.
He added that the objective of this week is to position the topic of Persons with Disabilities’ Rights, at an institutional and community level, through a plan of activities coordinated institutionally and with civil associations, inclusive enterprises and non-governmental organizations.
Each Social Security center (CSS) that in Jalisco add to four, at Guadalajara, Ocotlan, Lagos de Moreno and Ciudad Guzman, has elaborated its own plan during the National Week for Persons with Disabilities’ Rights.
The head of the Social Welfare and Attention to Pensionaries and Retirees Office, Ofelia Sahagun Godinez, noted that at the CSS Guadalajara, they will hold an exhibition-sale of articles made by persons with disabilities and senior citizens from this city’s civil associations, health promotion events, sport and cultural events.
At the Lagos de Moreno CSS, the workshop “Another look to disabilities” is scheduled, as well as the diffusion in written media of an article about disabilities, distribution of material alluding to non-discrimination, a film cycle, an inclusion campaign and artistic presentations.
ON behalf of Ciudad Guzman CSS, they will hold educational conferences, a painting exhibition named “Inclusive Strokes”, an artistic festival, a gastronomical exhibition; while the Ocotlan CSS will diffuse information about disabilities on media.
About the 28th edition of the National Disabilities Forum, they informed that on this year will be carried out under the motto “Inclusion and Non-Discrimination”, next December 8 at the courtyard of the Guadalajara Social Security Center.
Sahagun Godinez added that with this event seeks work inclusion of persons with disabilities, and due to that inclusive enterprises were called and they will also offer vacancies so that they can be occupied exclusively by persons with this condition.
Other instances were also convened such as the DIF, the National Comission of Human Rights (CNDH, for its acronym in Spanish), the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare (STPS, for its acronym in Spanish), the Metropolitan table of Disabilities represented by Victor Cassales, among other organisms, dependencies and associations.
It should be noted that at the CSS of Jalisco IMSS a total of 227 persons with disabilities and 3,298 senior citizens have been currently integrated to diverse activities.
