Mexico, Feb. 13 (Notimex).- Since 1950, the eve of Ash Wednesday was designated as the day of The Hot Cakes, a celebration that dates back to ancient Rome, when carnivals took place simultaneously and a day was also dedicated to the to eat everything that would be prohibited in the next 40 days, during Lent.
Therefore, this year the Hot Cakes Day is celebrated on Tuesday, February 13. Kantar Worldpanel Mexico reports data on this spongy and succulent food, in its study called "Worldpanel Usage Food".
The study revealed that Hot Cakes are consumed by all families throughout the year, however, it excels at the middle level, in households with children between seven and 13 years old, and the main time they eat them is at breakfast.
According to the global firm expert in consumer behavior, this food tends to be 63 percent the starter at breakfast, that is, it is not the main dish.
The study reveals that Hot Cakes are consumed at breakfast with milk in 91 percent, 80 percent with eggs, 72 percent with butter, 23 percent with coffee, 22 percent with jam and 11 percent with margarine.
With cajeta 10 percent, 9.0 percent with condensed milk, 7 percent with dried fruit, as well as honey and 5.0 percent with corn syrup or maple.
