Guadalajara, May 16 (Notimex).- The First Ibero-American Encounter of Art Mexico-Spain is an exhibition in which 12 Mexican and Spanish artists participate, which will be inaugurated next Thursday, May 18 at 7:00 p.m. in the Juan Soriano Gallery.
This meeting emerged as an exchange between the 12 artists who agreed that each one of them would coordinate an exhibition in their city, so that the exhibition would be presented in as many museums and galleries as possible, both in America and in Europe.
So far the works have been exhibited in Madrid, Zaragoza, Granada, Barcelona and Huesca, in Spain; while in Mexico it has been presented in Zacatecas and Fresnillo, and will be in Guadalajara, Tequila, Chapala, Puebla, Mexico City and Tijuana.
Verónica Jiménez, an artist from Guadalajara, is in charge of coordinating in Guadalajara the First Ibero-American Encounter of Art Mexico-Spain, commented that the selection of the Spanish artists was in charge of the curator Gorgonio San Juan.
Meanwhile, she said, for Mexican artists a direct invitation was made between painters who have been working together for years.
On the 48 pieces that make up the exhibition she commented that 75 percent of the work of Mexicans is abstract and the other 25 is figurative.
"Among European artists is a bit mixed technique and we have some pieces that make up the collage, mixed media and a series of things that you could not say if they are abstract or not, it is a trend of techniques that do not fit into one or the other".
The artist emphasized that, after this First Ibero-American Meeting of Art Mexico-Spain, new opportunities have arisen for the participants.
"Personally, not only sales have come out, but different European art magazines have made stories and that gives a global projection and makes us realize the opportunities that exist outside our country," she said.
It is important to mention that both the exhibitions in the cities of Mexico and those that take place in Spain are made up of different works, so that they can be presented simultaneously in different spaces.
In this way in Jalisco, the First Ibero-American Art Meeting Mexico-Spain will be on display at the Juan Soriano Gallery until June 24.
In the National Museum of Tequila, in the municipality of Tequila, it is presented from June 30 to August 3 and at the González Gallo Cultural Center in Chapala it will be exhibited from August 17 to September 18.
The participating artists are: Carlos Alberto Sánchez, Enrique Chiu, Javier Malo, José Luis Malo, Verónica Jiménez Sánchez and Víctor Mora, from Mexico. And David Martinez, Gamar, Isabel Monfort, Joaquim Falcó, María Esther Florez and Pilar Xercavins, from Spain.
