Mexico, Aug. 10 (Notimex).- Students of the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN, for its acronym in Spanish) designed Medicall, a mobile application (app) that provides its clients with a network of private medical consultations, through software that connects patients with doctors and registered nurses on its platform, which offer a professional health service.
Through this app, you can access a medical appointment in Mexico City, you only have to register as a user or doctor to send and receive requests for consultation, either at home or at the hospital. The app can be opened on an Android device, which will show a list of general practitioners who are within a radius of five kilometers.
The students of the Center for Scientific and Technological Studies (CECyT) 9 "Juan de Dios Bátiz" are: Luis Jiménez Delgado, Alejandro Rangel Méndez, Fabiola Martínez Ortiz, Zyanya Díaz García and Angélica Pichardo Esquivel are in charge of the realization of this project.
In an IPN statement, they indicated that an advantage of Medicall is that when displaying the different services available, the prices appear, as well as the information of the doctor, name, address, professional license, school of origin.
The creators of the initiative explained that the app is programmed with Java and has security servers that guarantee the data of both the client and the service provider.
The consultation can be paid through a tariff system similar to the transport service, in which the distance influences the price. You also have the option to leave comments to each doctor and reject or cancel appointments.
They pointed out that the platform will also be available via the web, which can also serve as a job bank for recently graduated doctors who do not have a job, or for those who are able to attend more patients.
