Mexico, Oct. 10 (Notimex).- Before the effects of hurricane Michael, category 4, which touched down on Wednesday in Florida, United States, the Mexican embassy in that country published several recommendations to nationals who reside in that entity.
In its Twitter account @EmbamexEUA it urged the population to stay informed by radio and television about the trajectory of the phenomenon, be alert to warnings, recommendations and warnings, as well as identify evacuation routes and shelters.
As a measure to secure the homes, it recommended covering all windows, installing additional fasteners to firmly stop the roof, reinforce garage doors, store furniture and outdoor objects that are not fixed to the ground and, if necessary, secure boats.
It also suggested developing a family communication plan and preparing an emergency kit that includes: one gallon of water per person, non-perishable food, first aid equipment, medications, emergency telephone numbers.
As well as basic items, cash, as well as insuring identity documents in plastic bags and take them with you.
