Mexico, Nov. 8 (Notimex) .- The signing of the Treaty between Mexico, the United States and Canada (USMCA) will be next November 30 in the framework of the G-20 meeting, which will take place in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
"It will be a signature with the powers granted to the ministers, and surely it will be done where the three ministers agree, which will be in Buenos Aires," assured the head of the Ministry of Economy (SE, for its acronym in Spanish), Ildefonso Guajardo Villarreal.
In a meeting with reporters, the federal official said that the protocol of this ceremony is to be defined, although he announced that it will take place at 08:00 local time.
On the issue of tariffs on Mexican steel, he said that they seek to initiate a dialogue with both the national steel sector and the United States, to find a solution in this regard, although there are no guarantees.
"There are 22 days left and I think we have some chance of achieving it. The ideal scenario is to eliminate all tariff hostilities, " said Guajardo Villarreal.
He recalled that Mexico and the United States have an economic exchange that exceeds 500 billion dollars, and the conflict in steel and the response on the subject of cheeses, pork and apples, is equivalent to six billion dollars, only 1.0 percent of the bilateral relationship.
The Minister of Economy discarded that parallel letters are registered so that the commercial agreement is not signed, because in the negotiation it was well managed in different perspectives, like the labor one, the participation of small and medium companies and the anticorruption chapter, among others topics.
