Merida, Mexico, Dec. 5 (Notimex) - One of the teams of the Scientific Research Center of Yucatan (CICY, for its acronym in Spanish), which represented Yucatan before 29 states of the Republic in the preparatory level, achieved its accreditation to participate next year in the Italian Contest for Young Scientist in Milan, Italy.
According to a report from that local scientific institution, ExpoCiencias Nacional was held from November 28 to December 2 of this year in Morelia, Michoacan.
The winning team was integrated by the young CICY Talent, Daniela Toro Castillo and Alan Eduardo Avila Basulto, who presented the project "Plants also get sick", advised by the engineer Alberto Cauich Rejon, CICY academic.
During this national exhibition, the project was the winner of the only accreditation for the Italian Contest for Young Scientist, where they will represent Mexico in the city of Milan, Italy. This meeting will take place from March 16 to 18, 2019.
The project presented by the young CICY Talent, Luna Danae Euan Chab, Eliberto Gutierrez Marín and Ingrid Yadira Osorio Parra, was advised by the CICY academic, engineer Carlos Alejandro Chuc Gonzalez, and was called: "Efficiency of hatching between two types of home incubators for quail".
Both projects were worked on in August of this year, as part of the CICY Talent Summer Stay program and, at the Science Fair held as the closing of this program, they won their pass to ExpoCiencias Yucatán, where they participated and obtained the first place in their category, which made them creditors to represent the state in the National ExpoCiencias.
In this way, the Center contributes to awakening scientific vocations among children and youth in Yucatan, as well as to the early training of scientists.
