Mexico, January 10 (Notimex).- President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said that there won’t be a step back in the fight against corruption and urged citizens living near the pipelines of Pemex not to collaborate anymore with those who are active in the fuel theft. All the income obtained from this illicit activity will be now obtained through employment and scholarships programs from the Federal Government.
Accordingly, he again asked for the support of Mexicans “because the people of Mexico are honest, that is a great virtue that has; Mexicans are not corrupt, corruption goes from top to bottom”. He also said that for a long time they have tried to corrupt it, but they have not succeeded because millions of Mexicans, families, communities act with honesty.
Moreover, he stressed at a press conference that surveillance in the pipelines will be strengthened and that the problem of the gasoline shortage in Mexico City is due to the sabotage of a pipeline from Tuxpan to Azcapotzalco, which was repaired, but blocked again. However, “we made a lot of progress and we are moving towards normality” in the capital, the State of Mexico and other entities.
