Mexico, Feb. 6 (Notimex).- Less than two hours from Mexico City is located the magical town of Tepoztlán, a destination selected by travelers from around the world as the second most "romantic" to celebrate the Valentine´s Day.
According to a study by Booking.com, said site was positioned just behind Lake Geneva, United States and followed by Quebec City, Canada, due to its high number of reservations registered for the weekend of Valentine 2019 and recommendations of users to visit as a couple.
Although romance can be associated with white sand beaches and warm turquoise waters, cruises or resorts, it is the fresh mountain air that has won over the heart of travelers from all over the world, it said.
The travel reservation platform said in a statement that Tepoztlán is not only recognized by its nature, but also by the elegance of the views of its hotels, and the wide range of holistic spa treatments and yoga retreats, as well as beautiful experiences, such as hiking or horseback riding.
It explained that properties like Posada del Tepozteco specialize in organizing romantic dinners on its terraces surrounded by the Sierra del Tepozteco, ideal for celebrating an anniversary or simply surprising the partner.
There is also Amomoxtli, a locality that offers experiences of self-knowledge, relaxation, romance and tranquility, thanks to its spas and temazcales rituals, which ensure the perfect escape as a couple.
In addition to Tepoztlán, the study registered that Mexico as a country is a very romantic destination for other nationalities, since for Colombia it ranked in the top 10 of favorite destinations to celebrate the Day of Love; while it placed Cancún in the second position and Mexico City in fourth place.
In the same survey, the country's capital was ranked fifth for Americans and Puerto Vallarta sixth for Canadian travelers.
