Mexico, Feb. 8 (Notimex).- The University of Guanajuato (UG, for its acronym in Spanish) has developed the project English language proficiency: A key to enhancing industrial recruitment and mobility in central Mexico, which aims to promote the development of English language skills.
Sergio Antonio Silva Muñoz, who attended the briefing as the representative of the Rector General, Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, noted that the UG seeks the student community to learn a second language, not only because it is a fundamental tool to get a job, but because there are intercultural processes that require efficient communication.
He recalled that in recent years hundreds of foreign companies have been installed that demand graduates who master the English language, but also the UG itself is immersed in a process of internationalization, so the institution is opening to new models for teaching and learning a second language.
According to a statement from that house of studies, the scheme, which has the support of the British Council and the University of Reading aims that in that Mexican educational institution, students learn the English language.
The coordinators of the bachelor's degree and the master's degree in English Teaching, Edgar Emmanuell García Ponce and Irasema Mora Pablo, respectively, gave an account of the background and results of the project.
In addition to the informative session, on February 7 and 8, update workshops will be held with professors and students of the UG.
