Mexico, Feb. 11 (Notimex) .- Aeromexico and Japan Airlines signed a shared code to increase connectivity to more than 50 cities between both countries, such as the business centers of Osaka, Sapporo or Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Oita, Okinawa, Ube, among others
Therefore, from February 12, customers will be able to choose to fly on Aeromexico's daily and direct flight between Mexico City and Tokyo-Narita to make quicker and easier connections from the Tokyo-Narita or Tokyo Haneda airports.
For its part, Japan Airlines may increase to 30 destinations in Mexico, which can connect its passengers from Narita, said the Mexican airline in a statement.
Aeromexico said that it is positioned and consolidated in its 12 years of experience flying to Japan from Mexico as the only Latin American airline to reach the Asian continent with Japan Airlines.
The economic exchange between both nations has been increasing in the last years, in Mexico there are approximately 180 thousand Japanese companies operating and at the end of 2017 (last data available), it registered imports for 11.2 million dollars from Japan and exported 5.7 million dollars.
Likewise, the growth of Japanese travelers to Mexico has presented positive figures. According to government information, from January to November of 2018, 140 thousand 363 passengers from the Asian country entered the country by air, which represented an increase of 3.7 percent over the same period of the previous year.
While Japan, with its millenary culture and scenarios that contrast modernity and tradition, is a very original tourist option for travelers from Mexico, who can visit Tokyo or Kyoto, which was a capital city for more than a thousand years and stands out for its the large number of shrines and temples.
They can also visit the Fuji or Komagatake mountains if they want to be in touch with nature, places to ski like Niseko, in Hokkaido.
