Mexico, Mar. 14 (Notimex).- The Minitry of the Navy of Mexico (Semar, for its acronym in Spanish) will provide satellite images for the pre-sketching of the route project for the Mayan Train.
The general collaboration agreement was signed this Thursday by the minister of the Navy, Admiral José Rafael Ojeda Durán, and by the general director of the National Fund for the Promotion of Tourism (Fonatur, for its acronym in Spanish), Rogelio Jiménez Pons Gómez.
Jiménez Pons Gómez indicated that this instrument seeks collaboration and coordination between both institutions, based on three pillars: consult and have georeferenced information for the development of the Mayan Train in the states of Campeche, Chiapas, Quintana Roo, Tabasco and Yucatán.
At the headquarters of the naval institution it was established that the development of this project will be supported through the Virtual Station of Very High Resolution Satellite Images (EVISMAR, for its acronym in Spanish), which has equipment with the capacities, characteristics and necessary licenses for the management of satellite images.
The agreement delimits the mechanisms of coordination, collaboration and exchange of information between Semar and Fonatur, within the scope of their respective capacities and with the purpose of fulfilling their constitutional, legal and regulatory powers.
Likewise, it will generate satellite images for the projects in charge of Fonatur, and will collaborate in the training and technical advice for the personnel oriented to the management and interpretation of information.
