Washington, Mar. 19 (Notimex).- Attorney Christopher Landau was officially nominated Monday by US President Donald Trump for the position of ambassador to Mexico, according to a brief statement from the White House.
Landau, who will take the position that became vacant in May 2018 after the retirement of Roberta Jacobson, is a constitutional and appeals lawyer, who has brought cases before the Supreme Court of Justice, as well as federal and state courts of appeal, the text said.
Landau has been a trial attorney for a private firm, a member of the Conference of the Judicial Committee of Advisors on Rules of Appeal, a legal assistant to two judges of the Supreme Court, Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas.
The designation must be endorsed by the US Senate.
