Mexico, Mar. 19 (Notimex). - The National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM, for its acronym in Spanish) presented on Tuesday a free application for mobile devices called "Earthquakes and Volcanoes CDMX".
The objective is to stop false information generated in social networks through the dissemination of "scientific half-truths", as well as by charlatans who abuse the fear or lack of information of the population.
When making the information known, the head of the Museum of Geophysics of the highest house of studies, Ana María Soler, clarified that the application is not an alert service, nor precedes any civil or military authority, but rather gives general information of earthquakes and volcanoes.
The expert indicated that the application is available for devices with Android and iOS systems, and is currently promoted at secondary, high school and university degree level; in addition, it has animations for children.
