Mexico, May 3 (Notimex) .- Despite the advance of technologies and the increasingly frequent use of tablets, smartphones or video game consoles, television and radio remain in the taste of Mexican children as a means of entertainment.
According to the pollster Nielsen Ibope, television reaches daily, on average 6.4 million children between four and 12 years old, who see about four hours with 44 minutes of television per day.
In addition, the time when children aged four to 12 watch the television the most is from 19:00 to 22:00, either because it is the time when they have more free time or because it is the time some of their favorite shows are transmitted.
According to data provided by the company, 53 percent of Mexican children who watch television are men and 47 percent are women.
Regarding radio consumption, the favorite place for children aged eight to 12 to listen to their favorite stations is at home, with preferences for grupera, modern music in English and Spanish.
According to the results of the National Occupation and Employment Survey (ENOE, for its acronym in Spanish) 2018, 38.3 million children and adolescents aged 0 to 17 reside in Mexico, of which 11.4 million are five years old or less; 13.2 million are in school age, from six to 11 years old and 13.7 million are adolescents from 12 to 17 years old.
