Mexico, May 16 (Notimex). - The president of the Senate, Martí Batres Guadarrama, pointed out that Mexico City joined the federal states that supported the draft of educational reform.
With 46 votes in favor, 13 against and zero abstentions, he explained, the Congress of Mexico City ratified the initiative that is expected to be declared constitutional by the Permanent Commission of the Congress of the Union in this day's session when already having the endorsement of 18 local congresses for that purpose.
Thus, the capital joins the 17 states of Baja California, Campeche, Chiapas, Chihuahua, Colima, Durango, Guerrero, Hidalgo, Morelos, Nayarit, Nuevo Leon, Oaxaca, Sinaloa, Tabasco, Tlaxcala, Veracruz, and Zacatecas.
This morning, in his usual conference, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador stressed that "the new educational reform, which has other purposes, especially that of Mexico’s teachers are not offended anymore, that they are respected and that everything that is done to improve the quality of education, be in agreement with them ".
